\nBut most of all, are you sure you know what it truly means?<\/p>\n
Let\u2019s start from the beginning.<\/p>\n
Your comfort zone is that lovely place where you need to make no effort at all to function in any way.
\nEverything comes to you easily, you feel relaxed and safe, so you\u2019re comfortable in it.<\/p>\n
The problem with feeling comfortable is that you don\u2019t grow.
\nWhen you\u2019re comfortable, you have no reason to push yourself to find a solution, to obtain a result or to simply take part in an activity; you already have everything you need to get the job done, so you rely on the skills and resources you own.<\/p>\n
This unfortunately means you won\u2019t feel motivated to learn something new and when you stop learning you start aging.<\/p>\n
Maybe you don\u2019t care about that and you\u2019re perfectly fine with staying where you are, switching off your brain (or set it on autopilot) and avoid making any type of effort at all, but if you\u2019re reading this article my guess is you\u2019re not like that!

So, how can you step out of your comfort zone to keep yourself sharp and to accomplish whatever you set your mind on?
Well, before I get into that, I want to make sure you understand what going out of your comfort zone is not!<\/p>\n
Getting out of your comfort zone has nothing to do with numbers and it\u2019s not about performance. Therefore, going from running three miles a day to four miles a day will not do the trick. Whatever you do, doing it more or faster will not take you out of your comfort zone. Despite the effort you may make, you won\u2019t be using new skills to achieve that.<\/p>\n
The secret to consciously push yourself out of your comfort zone is trying new things, especially those you never ever do! That way you\u2019ll be forced to use \u201cparts of you\u201d that are dormant and develop them.<\/p>\n
